The decision of the Region to dedicate a song for the handicapped is rhetoric and can not circumvent other problems
I am a "differently abled" (though not so very long ago I was sure to be a man). What happens? Demagoguery and rhetoric took hold even of those who have voted in the last regional elections, since the primary?
With great dismay I read that on February 9 last
I have no idea how the performance of music (I can not read music) and the few words penned by hand suggest some loud rhetoric. But no matter why is not a review I want to do.
do not know who wrote it, nor from what origins of this controversial initiative that complements the other, yet controversial, initiative to create a "regional day of a disability." E 'likely to be a contest or something, but it does not matter because this aspect certainly not here to condemn some of the creativity and effort.
What I wish to inform you that I believe is necessary to put aside rhetoric and demagoguery to go to the substance of the problems and, with respect to those who have physical and / or psychic, the substance of the daily difficulties that often generate discrimination, suffering and real diversity. An example is true for everyone.
Not long ago, it was still the era Lease, I had the opportunity to participate - for professional reasons and on behalf of the Third Sector - a working group in that region, sic (!), Organized precisely the "Day of the Regional Disabled". Already at that meeting that I signaled near the palace of the Land (for instance, that on the Promenade), where the meetings took place, there was a parking lot reserved for the handicapped. The next time, Ironically, I fined for no parking, I did not know where to park and the first place was really good distance. But not all.
The meetings were held in a room near the office of the President, on top of a steep staircase that was not the shadow of a handrail. At the very least tragicomic (given the theme of the meeting) for those in wheelchairs or with walking difficulties, including Mr Antonio Guidi, had to climb up the steep steps. The next week I personally experienced a diaspora in the corridors of the Palace of the Land because, having to reach a certain room, where in the meantime had been hijacked the meetings, I had to alert the security personnel and employees begging for a key to gain access to a trivial lift. Between me and this room was a staircase of white marble, this without a shred of handrails.
So, what are we talking about? Real problems (which are still dominant architectural barriers in public buildings or public utilities such as, for example, banks) or theme songs and doodles to be happy (?) The "disabled", giving them occasional treats stuffed of demagoguery and rhetoric? Would not it be better to roll up their sleeves and work in silence rather than even sing?
One last Please do not make anyone sing that hymn in my name. Thanks.
